Messaging in the XUNO Staff App

The XUNO Staff app allows users to send, read and reply to messages within XUNO.

Note: Your school must be on the latest version of XUNO to ensure the app works well. You should also always update your device software to ensure compatibility with the XUNO Staff app. Allowing automatic updates on this app is also recommended.

Reading a new message

  1. If your school has enabled App Notifications for internal messages, you will hopefully receive a push notification alerting you to new messages sent via XUNO. You can tap the notification and it will open your messages list. Otherwise, tap the menu icon   and tap Messages in the menu.
  2. New and unread messages will show a blue dot next to them.
  3. Tap any message to read it.
  4. Tap the back arrow to return to your message inbox.

Sending a new message

  1. Tap the menu icon   and tap Messages in the menu.
  2. To start a new conversation, tap the plus icon   in the top right corner.
  3. Use the search to find any user within XUNO - this can be a parent, student or staff member. Tap them to start the conversation.
  4. Tap the white space down the bottom to activate the keyboard and type your message.
  5. Tap the paperclip icon to attach a file.
  6. Tap the paper plane icon to send the message.
  7. Tap the back arrow to return to the previous screen, and tap once more to return to your message inbox.

Replying to a message

  1. Tap the menu icon   and tap Messages in the menu.
  2. To reply to an existing message, select the conversation you want to reply to.
  3. Tap the white space down the bottom next to your initials to activate the keyboard and type your message.
  4. Tap the paperclip icon to attach a file.
  5. Tap the paper plane icon to send the message.
  6. Tap the back arrow to return to your message inbox.

Using the search

  1. Tap the menu icon   and tap Messages in the menu.
  2. Tap the search field to search for any word in a message as well as the name of any user in an existing conversation.
