How to Filter Maps by Indicators

Student indicators are a way to group students by any category you like. This can be medical conditions, learning groups, sports teams, etc. Indicators need to be set up in the GradeXpert desktop application but can be assigned to students and viewed in the web.

First, you must choose how the filter should operate and which indicators to apply.

These include the following:

  1. Include students with ANY matching indicator:
This is an OR-type filter. It will display students who match at least one of the selected indicators.
Example: Show students who are Diabetic OR Allergic to Nuts OR Wear Glasses.
  2. Include students with ALL matching indicators:
This is an AND-type filter. It will display students who match all of the selected indicators.
Example: Show students who are Diabetic AND Allergic to Nuts AND Wear Glasses.
  3. Exclude students with ANY matching indicator:
This is an OR-type filter. It will exclude students who match at least one of the selected indicators.
Example: Exclude students who are Diabetic OR Allergic to Nuts OR Wear Glasses.
  4. Exclude students with ALL matching indicators:
This is an AND-type filter. It will exclude students who match all of the selected indicators.
Example: Exclude students who are Diabetic AND Allergic to Nuts AND Wear Glasses.

After selecting your indicators, click Refresh to filter just for students who will be included or excluded.
