Add and manage LDAP groups and permissions

Users using the LDAP-based authentication method have their permissions applied based on what LDAP security group they are a member of. Each user should only be a member of one LDAP security group which has been added to XUNO.

In view of this, you must decide which of your staff members will be placed into each of these groups, and what permissions will be applied to each group of staff. You can create as many groups as you require. Your technician will need to create each of these groups on the server and place staff members into each of these groups. You will then be able to assign permissions to each of these groups from within the XUNO interface.

  1. Login to your XUNO Suite as an administrator.
  2. Click on the Options menu then click on User Groups & Permissions under the Software Settings section.
  3. Under the Group section, fill out the blank field in the first column with the new group name.
  4. Use the drop down lists in the second and third column to specify the group user type and select the LDAP group that it links to.
