How to create SMS templates

  1. Click on the Options menu and then click on the Lists & Options menu item under the Software Settings subheading.
  2. Select the SMS Templates option under the Attendance section from the drop-down list.
  3. Type a name for your new SMS template.
  4. Type in a body of text to be sent. This message can incorporate merge fields to customise information within the SMS template. 
  5. Click the Add button.

Once the template has been added you will be able to go to your attendance reports, select the students and parents you would like to message, and send them an SMS text using the newly created custom template.

Merge fields are easy to use!

For example: '[STFULLNAME] of [STFORM] was marked absent unapproved at form group, [DATESHORT]. Please contact MUSC on 5000 1234 to approve this absence.'

will send the selected recipients the following: 'Harry Cooper of A01 was marked unapproved absent at form group, 01-Jan-2015. Please contact MUSC on 5000 1234 to approve this absence.'
